Indicative price by course
Almost all clinics sell this treatment as a course rather than as a single session, usually three sessions two to four weeks apart, and usually at a discount against the single session price.

What actually drives the number
The preparation and how much of it is used
This is the largest and least visible variable. Wholesale cost differs several fold between suppliers, and the quantity used in a session differs between clinics and between areas. Nothing in the advertised price tells you which end of that spectrum you are at.
Who performs it
A consultant dermatologist and an aesthetic nurse charge differently, and both may be entirely appropriate. What matters is that the person is registered, that they assessed you personally, and that they can answer for the product they are using.
Location and overheads
Central London commands a substantial premium that reflects rent rather than outcome. The same treatment by a comparably qualified practitioner elsewhere is frequently a third less.
The needling that comes with it
Part of what you are paying for is a microneedling treatment. That has a market price of its own. Knowing it lets you see what the preparation is adding.
What the package includes
Review appointments, aftercare products, standardised photography and a follow up at three months all cost the clinic something. A package that includes them is not directly comparable with one that does not.
Set against other treatments
Price alone does not tell you which treatment is appropriate, and the cheapest option is not automatically the sensible one. What the comparison does show is where the exosome premium sits.

The comparison worth making is not exosome therapy against nothing. It is exosome therapy against microneedling alone at the same clinic, because that isolates the cost of the component whose effect has not been quantified. Ask for both prices. Any clinic can give you them in a sentence.
What a suspiciously low price usually means
In most aesthetic treatments a low price signals a shortcut in the practitioner, the setting or the volume of product used. Here there is an additional possibility that you cannot check: the preparation itself. Because these products are not licensed, there is no authorisation guaranteeing the contents of a vial, and no independent verification available to you or, in many cases, to the clinic.
This is not a claim that inexpensive treatments use inferior products. It is a statement about what you can verify, which is very little. If a price is markedly below the usual range, the question to ask is what preparation is being used, who supplies it, and what documentation the clinic holds for it. A clinic that can answer clearly has probably thought about the supply chain. One that cannot has not.
Ask for the price of microneedling alone at the same clinic. Ask what the maintenance schedule and its annual cost would be. Ask what happens to the balance if you stop after the first session. Three questions, none of which is awkward, and all of which change what the number in front of you means.
On value
The word value only means something once you know what you are buying. Here you are buying a microneedling treatment, which has an evidence base and a market price, plus a preparation whose effect size in humans has not been established and whose contents you cannot verify, delivered outside the licensing framework. That may still be worth the money to you. It is a different proposition from the one usually described in a consultation, and the difference is the point of this page.

Common questions
Why is the range so wide
Because the preparation is not standardised and the delivery is not standardised either. A session may use a fraction of a vial or several vials, at a wholesale cost that differs several fold between suppliers, delivered by a nurse or by a consultant, in a treatment room or in a Harley Street clinic. None of that is visible in the advertised price.
Is a cheaper treatment worse
Not necessarily worse in a way you can detect, which is the difficulty. A lower price usually reflects the preparation used, and you have no way to verify what is in a vial. In a licensed medicine the authorisation guarantees the contents. Here nothing does. Treat a price well below the usual range as a question to ask rather than a bargain to take.
Should I buy a course up front
A prepaid course transfers all the risk to you. You commit to sessions two and three before you have any information about session one, and if you decide to stop, recovering the balance depends on the clinic's goodwill and its terms. If you do buy a package, read the refund terms before paying and ask what happens if you stop after the first session.
What am I actually paying extra for
Compare the clinic's price for microneedling alone with its price for microneedling plus the preparation. The difference is what the preparation costs you. Seeing that number in isolation is clarifying, because it is the amount you are paying for the component whose effect size is unknown.
Are there ongoing costs
Usually. Maintenance is generally recommended, at intervals that vary widely between clinics. Before you start, work out the annual cost of the maintenance schedule being proposed rather than the cost of the initial course, because that is the commitment being described.
